We are trying to build a gaming pc. We went to pcpartspicker but really don't know what to get. If possible, something that can work with our mac in a 2 machine stream setup. We have a percipient of 1000 USD. any guidance on the subject is greatly appreciated. Also, looking to get a new router.

I just want to say that if you get a strong enough computer doing a two computer streaming setup (Mac or not (Especially since I do not know if your Mac will be powerful enough to stream it)) is a waste of money, time and resources. Your better option is to simply acquire yourself a better PC.

When you say "Build" a gaming PC, I do not know how much experience you have in the actual construction of a PC. Make a mistake and you could fry a CPU, damage important components or break key parts. It's important you know how each piece fits together and how to troubleshoot quickly and effectively.

I also want to let you know that for that price you're not going to get an "Epic" system. You WILL have frame drops, loading issues etc etc. I have planned these selections around you using a second PC for streaming to lower CPU usage...

Assuming you do not know how to do those things, here's a good pre-built PC for that price:

http://www.amazon.com/CYBERPOWERPC-Game ... 575&sr=1-1

Bear in mind that is without peripherals. (Monitor, Sound Systems etc etc (Not entirely sure about mouse and keyboard, it states it comes with them but not 100%))

On top of that a decent Capture Card for you (Assuming my calculations are correct from GBP to USD) you'll be looking at around 80-100 USD for a decent one.

Think carefully on this, if you save up more you'll be able to get a much more efficient system. If not and you want to get the parts and assemble it on your own, this is the system you'll be revolving around stats-wise. The CPU is not the best but the graphics card more than makes up for it. (For gaming, not for streaming)

Best of luck!

I agree with Icy on this, but at some point you have to dig in and just build it (if that is want you want to do). They key pretty much all parts so you can't really plug stuff in wrong (if you are pushing really hard, then it probably doesn't go there). With that said, if you did get the pre built computer above (and it is a nice computer) then I would take any extra money and see about upgrading the hard drive to a solid state. Computers are getting to be way to fast for old platter based hard drives. What I always recommend is to get a 120-240GB ssd and then if you need more space a platter based 1-2 TB hard drive.

The best thing you can do is to learn more about how computers work, what each part does and how they are put together. Searching Youtube should yield a large amount of data. If you have any questions please let us know.

You agree with me a lot. XD I appreciate the add on advice, but SSDs are not really a requirement yet these days, mainly something that is used for comfort than necessity. Whilst it can help load up things faster, the system they are buying will still be limited greatly by RAM speeds and such.

Check out my build if you feel like it. I included a bunch of unnecessary (but really fun!!) toys along with it. Everything but OS for $715 american. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pBDcQ7 Not saying this would be THE gaming machine that you want. But it is the best machine for me that I've been able to come up with. Good luck!!
