Hello, I'd love some advise on whether I should build a new PC or not. I don't have any PC gaming friends so I don't know who to ask really. First of all, this is my current build (at least some things I know for sure and think is important to mention) :

Case: AeroCool XPredator X1
GPU: Intel Core i7-4770
Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V Watercooler
Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz (2x 8GB)
GPU: 2GB NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760
HDD: 2TB SATA III
SSD: 120GB SATA III

I know it's not a bad PC or anything, but always when I check streamer's builds or on any PC gaming sites they have a GPU of around GTX 900ish. Now I barely have any understanding of all these things, but it seems mine is 'older' since it's a significantly lower number.

Thing is, I'm looking forward playing The Witcher 3, MGS V and Fallout 4 but I don't want to be playing them on low settings. I'm scared to purchase them on Steam and then not being able to play them smoothly.
Maybe it would be enough to just upgrade the graphics card? If that's even possible, I'm a noob on this. And I don't even know if I can 'plug in' that graphics card in my PC withouth destroying other components. Or maybe the GTX 760 is good enough? I just know how to game, not how pc's work lol.

Thanks for reading!

EDIT #1: I was searching on google for a bit, and I don't think I can get a newer card becuse my motherboard MSI B85M-P33 only has 1 slot, while newer cards require 2? Not sure if that makes sense. Would be great if someone could confirm!

If your current PC plays games that you want in a way that you're happy with, I wouldn't worry about upgrading.

As for your motherboard only having 1 slot, a GPU will only use 1 slot on the motherboard, just the thickness of the GPU and cooler will take up the space of 2 slots. It's likely the GPU you have now is the same.

Hi Lord_Dregg, I posted my question today on the steam forums as well and they explained it to me just like you said it is. I decided to buy the GTX 970 which will arrive tomorrow. Thanks a lot for your reply though!

Only now I don't know what game to get; Dark Souls III, The Witcher III, MGS V or Fallout 4 :)

Sorry for this kind of a late reply, it's running everything smoothly. Idk about changes though, I've been playing new games so can't compare anything. Thing is, I bought this PC some year(s) ago, and wanted an upgrade since I wanted to get into PC gaming.

But I haven't been able to use it a lot lately since my water cooler is giving up on me. I'm getting a new cooler this saturday though.

Problem was it was making a loud rattling/crackling noise, so I was scared it might stop working and (worse case scenario) would catch fire lol. Cleaning didn't help and someone detected the pump made that noise.
