Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place but here I go. Since the past couple of weeks now I have been unable to stream Cohh's twitch stream through a chromecast. I like to watch the stream on my TV. Before that time, I had no issues. Every other channel on Twitch streams just fine through chromecast. On the twitch app itself, on my laptop through the browser (both using the same WiFi as the CC) the stream is also perfectly fine.

I've got three CC's and all of them show the same behaviour on different TV's. Every stream but Cohh's is fine. Once I start his stream it's a constant display of miniscule freezes both on the video and the audio aspect and not always simultaniously. Changing the stream quality does not make it worse or better. What I have noticed is that the channel information keeps popping up after each freeze, almost like the CC had to re-initialize the stream over and over again.

So far I have yet been unable to find a solution. All the CC's are up to date, software wise.

Does anyone have any similair experiences and / or know something I could try to fix this?

Kind Regards,

Luhaine

Small update:

Today I went to my sister's house. Out of curiosity I tried to watch the stream there through a chromecast (v1). Same problem occurs there as well. I tried casting it through her iphone and mine, the issue remained as well.

Its an issue with Twitch's app unfortunately and has been happening on and off over the last year. They fixed it for a bit, but seem to have broken it in last month or so. Its not just Cohh's stream, but any stream where the bitrate goes over a certain threshold which then causes the Chromecast to buffer the video but keep playing the audio fine.

The best work around I have found for now is to use the Nightdev TwitchCast site (https://nightdev.com/twitchcast/) from a PC and use that to connect to the Chromecast and start the stream. So far its been working pretty well for me with only a minor issue every now and then. Its the only thing I have found that reliably works whilst we wait for Twitch to sort their app out.

An excellent suggestion, TheKnat! Thanks I'll have to try that at home as I've seen the same video stutter on my Chromecast v2.

Thanks! That seems to have fixed it. Hope Twitch fixes their app soon though.
