Parts I've thought about using in my first build:
i5 6600k quad core processor, MSI Z170A Gaming M5 ATX mobo, GeForce GTX 1070 8GB graphics card, 2TB HDD, 240GB SSD, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4, EVGA 750W PSU, and a Blu-ray drive.
Any suggestions from you beautiful people are welcome! I have a budget of $1500.

Do you already have the peripherals for this build or is that taken out of your budget? (Monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.)

The budget doesn't include mouse, keyboard, monitor. All of those are birthday presentso I'll receive next month.

I would say with that budget go with the I7 6700K, some games are still heavily CPU intensive like Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 and benefit drastically from the extra threads. Other than that your setup looks great. If you aren't looking to do SLI down the road you could probably go with a 650w PSU and save a little there. I trust Samsung SSDs the most, I have 2 850 Evo's in my rig. Also I would choose Western Digital Black for the HDD. I would also look at an aftermarket air cooler like the 212 Evo, or the Cryorig H7 for both a more quiet operation and better thermals.

To be honest I would look to make use of the M.2 Hard drive slots. The motherboard has two of them. I have one in my computer and it is currently 2-3X faster than the solid state drive I used to. They do cost a bit, but if you are looking for another boost, that could be one. Cheers!

Personally I am going to start building a new PC myself, but for bang for buck if you can I would wait until April for a video card. I know its still ways away, but the 1000 series is Nvidia's entry dx12 and ddr5x initial test cards. Their next series of cards usually come out around April of every year, and it will be more stable, and optimized then the current builds. I am not saying the 1070 and 1080s aren't good cards, I just feel they are using those cards as benchmark cards, like they did when they release the GTX280(DX10 release) and GTX480(DX11 Release).

Try not to take i5 series. Having multiple bad problem with the process thread handling just make me mad on it instead.

Here's my build. That now a days will run you $1300, with the upgrade of GPU you will be in the $1500 range I got close @ $1633 at Newegg from my purchase history.
The only real change is the GPU a full ATX mobo and the RAM. MSI GeForce GTX 1070, G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB 1866,MSI MSI Gaming Z97 GAMING 5.
My system is a beast, for the most part. Need a GPU upgrade, though I will wait for HBM2 cards. Forgot to mention that, I use lower CAS Latency RAM because, system calls for the GPU. Lower CAS worked for me on the low GPU Ram, most DirectX systems use system call (video games included). I will OC my ram when the HBM2 cards offer 12gb+, hoping DirectX will not be using System calls then. Vulkan is offering reduced system calls, so larger Gram or in the future HBM2 will be useful for off putting the latent task. Good luck on you build, hope this info helps!

Nice looking system. Think you'll have a blast! I noticed you're motherboard doesn't offer, the SteamOS support. Strictly Windows build then? Oh also I like the MSI builds, great streaming software support too! I'll also add, I always use Intel SSDs, because the Intel chipset/Memory Controller.
