Sorry mods if this is in the wrong forum section, I figured it was most applicable for what I'm going to ask, but please migrate if it should be somewhere else! I won't be offended...much :D

I'm currently studying Audio Engineering at university in Scotland, and I was wondering how Cohh manages to attain crystal-clear audio, with no bleed from his speakers seeing as he doesn't use headphones?

I found the stream setup section on here and see he uses a Shure SM7B with Cloudlifter CL-1 - is it down to the SM7B being a dynamic mic? I'd also be curious to learn what speakers he uses, and where they're located if anyone happens to know?

Any answers & assistance would be much appreciated...thanks in advance folks! :)

Cool cool, thanks for your reply itsZdan...so I'd be guessing the acoustic padding would be positioned as to prevent reflection of speaker audio from the walls back towards the mic?

The Shure SM7B is probally the most used mic in radio broadcasting. The main reason is the good mechanical noise isolation. Just like de EV RE20 the off-axis response is very good, so the sound picked up from the sides, sounds quite like the sound from the front, but just less loud. The reason you barely hear his speakers is simply due to the cardiod pattern, a well acousticly treated room and he probally has his speakers not louder then necessary. You dont really notice the speakers, because it is not unnatural or distracting.

It being a dynamic mic has nothing to do with it. The only real difference is the way it handles transients and the more prominent proximity effect (more bass when moving closer to the mic)

I hope this helps you with your question!
