Hey, I bought Arcanum on GOG (I never played it before) recently and in order to make it work I had to jump through a few hoops. There were good instructions to apply these files to the the game directory, but I the link to the instructions have been deleted. From what I remember, the instructions stated you had to install the files in a specific order, but I can tell you I did not install all of the files listed in the index and I focused on one gameplay and the major graphics. The game does not run 1980-1080 with this mod
The best site to go to is <http://terra-arcanum.com/drog/guide.html>, it gives a very good instruction to tweak the graphics.
I found a good index of a list of mods for Arcanum listed here <http://ton-hur.mbnet.fi/files/Arcanum/> which what I originally used to install the patch to get it working on my Windows 10 PC laptop (it's a pretty crappy HP quad core, but I think the principles for working on higher end machines should be the same).
This site <https://www.rpgwatch.com/games/arcanum- ... tml#38049> apparently stated there is a new version of this graphics mod which was released in July 2017 (pretty nice), but I have not installed it yet.
What I do know for certain is that I had to do a shortcut workaround where I changed the target location to "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Arcanum\Arcanum.exe" -doublebuffer -no3d -scrollfps:70
That said, I have a problem which is I can't minimize it or click off screen (I have a second monitor hooked up) without the who thing looking having green pixels with a much smaller screen when I go back into the game; it runs buttery smooth otherwise.
I hope this helps if anyone wants to dive back into Arcanum.
