
Crowd-funding website Kickstarter is set to launch in Australia and New Zealand soon, according to an announcement posted on Kickstarter.

The page encourages email sign-ups from Australia-based creators for a variety of categories, including games. Interested parties who sign up will be the "first to know" when the site launches. No time period was specified for the launch.
Kickstarter also announced that it will be hosting "Kickstarter School" events in Sydney and Melbourne. Participants who wish to take part can sign up on the site. Entry is free.
Kickstarter is an American for-profit organisation. The Kickstarter website provides crowd-funding services for creative projects. Several high-profile games have been successfully funded on Kickstarter, including Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, Broken Age, and Project Eternity.
