Token Accumulation Via Twitch App on Fire TV?

I've been a Twitch Prime sub as long as it's been around but I'm not a chatter (and not consistent with re-upping in time). I always play vids while watching the streams via the Twitch app on the Amazon Fire TV (Cohh gets the big screen). I'm suddenly curious if that counts as being logged into the Twitch Chat for token accumulation? The app does login as me and shows my subscription but my token accumulation seems lower than it could be.

Have I been sabotaging my tokens by using an app that doesn't fully offer the features needed to "login to twitch chat"?

If so... DERP! Never needed them until the Warframe guild opened up.
