Fallout 4, Component highlight/search not working?

I have certain components highlighted that I need for crafting but when I find some of those items they are not highlighted nor is the container they are in. It was working but it stopped and I have progressed a lot farther then I was at the point of it working, I thought it would just fix it self. Anyone have any Ideas of what could be wrong. Thank you for any help!
