Hey,
I am looking to start streaming, and was wondering what programs I should download in order to do so?

Hi there,
On the most part it depends on what you are wanting to with your stream. To start off I would say choose broadcasting software like OBS or xsplit. Personally I prefer OBS and cohh made a guide on how he set his OBS up Youtube link. With that you can start doing basic streaming with scheme switching and other things.
That is really all you need to get started, once you got that going and are sure you want to invest more time into it get yourself a follower notifier going and maybe a chat bot. I can't really recommend anything for this at this time but google abit ask people what they are using.
Goodluck!

I agree with dexzar, OBS is prob going to be your best bet. There are so many different things you can do with it. Are you planning on having a mic and/or camera? Also you could try a green screen (OBS supported). The bot is a great idea, but it seems only relevant when your chat is starting to move. I have seen people with a bot and the only thing in chat is that bot, with maybe one or two other people. Makes it kind of annoying (personal opinion). What ever you decide, I wish you luck! Let us know how things are working. Cheers
