With the over abundance of zombie and horror games I was just thinking about what games it is we all fall back into around this time of year.

Personally I've just gotten back into Dark Souls 3 (yea, I haven't beaten it yet but work and life have gotten in the way of games) but I tend to find myself falling back into playing Dead Space and The Last of Us as well. I think my all time favorite game for this time of year is the first two BioShock installments. To me they always captured the spirit of American Halloween (maybe not the 'sexy' costumes) and I just wanted to see what the rest of the Cohhilition was up to around this time of year.

Been playing horror games all month long, of course don't have a choice in what I pick this month. Today is the Bunker, Haunting Ground and FNAF Sister Location.

However typically I lean towards Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame Crimson Butterfly, Dead Space. Was hoping to get into The Suffering and RLH but could not seem to get the emulators to work without having weird graphical hiccups.

@wade_d_mcginnis : I have to say I do love those Silent Hill Games, they were the first ones I really got into (I played RE after I played SH2) and I've always thought they were scarier games. I haven't payed one this month with all the stuff I've had going on during my free-time but, I remember during Octobers in college my roommate and I would just stay up way too late with a crowd of people in our dorm room, playing through all the SH games we could get our hands on.
@littobbmomo : I haven't played Amnesia yet. I've always wanted too. It's one of those games that I think about and I've already got too much on my plate and therefor forget about picking up a copy and playing it. I'm not sure how I'm feeling about Outlast, I just haven't felt that urge to play it, I really should check out some game play of it so I can make a better decision but, you know how it is when a game just isn't speaking to you!

Cheers and good vibes to all those enjoying Nopetober! And Happy Halloween!

@Poprfresh Oddly enough it was not till last year I finally had a chance (spine) to play the Resident Evil/Fatal Frame/Silent Hill/System Shock games for the first time. Was surprised by how good they are and how well they hold up to modern games.

I enjoy Amnesia, Soma, Year Walk and Outlast. When you like retro games you can try Phantasmagoria, Dino Crisis on PS1 or Eternal Darkness on GameCube. :) Custume Quest is not a horror game but its a nice little rpg to play on Halloween.

Dino Crisis on PS1 *Kreygasm* - the raptors in that game were great, I remember my first jump scare when I didn't realise they were 'dead' until you saw the blood flow from their bodies, I put a few shots into it, it hit the ground, laying down, then suddenly it pops up when I was walking by and I'm dead. Great game

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines has to be a favourite to play around Halloween, I play a different build each year, such a fun game. The Silent Hill franchise is also something I enjoy or anything from the Penumbra series.
