Former Xbox Live Arcade-exclusive zombie game State of Decay arrives on PC tomorrow, September 20, albeit in an unfinished state.
State of Decay will be made available through Steam's Early Access section, an area reserved for incomplete, in-development games. It costs the same $20 the XBLA version does and includes access to the finished game, except out later this year. Early Access players won't have to restart their progress when transitioning to the final game.
In a blog post announcing the launch, developer Undead Labs did its best to emphasize that this is an early version of the game not intended for everyone. It warns of crashes and a lack of keyboard and mouse support -- when it debuts tomorrow, the only way to play will be with an Xbox 360 controller or some other gamepad, though it's the 360 controller that it has been tested with. Support for a keyboard-and-mouse control setup will be added in the coming weeks, and Undead Labs plans on using player feedback to help refine the controls.
