During a panel at BlizzCon today covering new features coming to StarCraft II, Blizzard announced it is removing certain restrictions on the free Starter Edition of the game, including giving all players access to the StarCraft II Arcade.
As part of patch 2.1, those playing the Starter Edition -- a free version of StarCraft II that allows access to a limited number of features -- will have access to the Arcade, effectively allowing them to play all custom game modes and maps without having to purchase a copy of the game. Among the content found on the Arcade is the Warcraft 4 fan mod that recently made headlines.
