A beta version of Wasteland 2 is now available publicly to PC players through Steam Early Access for $59.99, developer inXile Entertainment has announced.
Wasteland 2 is the reboot of the long dormant Wasteland series last seen in 1988. The original game served as the inspiration for the Fallout series, which, like Wasteland, started out as a turn-based, isometric RPG. A reboot was announced by series creator Brian Fargo early last year, and within days of its Kickstarter going live, development of the game was successfully funded. Its Kickstarter alone raised in excess of $2.9 million, several times more than the $900,000 inXile was seeking through crowdfunding.
