One thing that I've always loved about video games is how easy they allow you to escape from whatever you may be going through to experience things in a new light. It's fun to step in to the shoes of other characters and go to whimsical, fantastic places. My favorite games let me slip away for a while, sometimes a long while, and even though there may not be many that I'd consider my favorite, I sure do love them.

Many people turned their noses up at the art style, character models, and overall "cartoony" look of Final Fantasy 9, and to that I ask, "how dare they?" The stylized look was a departure from the realistic take FF7 and FF8 took, but it was done perfectly and captured the fantasy essence of the amazing story held within.
