After operating more than a year with its own dedicated launcher, free-to-play multiplayer mech combat game Hawken is coming exclusively to Steam.

Developer Adhesive Games and Meteror Entertainment said on the game's official blog they're bringing the game to Steam after the community expressed a desire for Hawken to reach a broader audience.

Players who have already installed Hawken will need to delete the game and re-install it via Steam, but they will not lose any of the progress or purchases they've made in the transition. Moving forward, all in-game purchases will be made with the Steam Wallet.

The transition to Steam also comes with a major update, which in addition to the usual balance changes, also overhauls the game's progression system. Players will no longer receive Tuning Points as they level up, and Mechs are no longer unlocked through Mech Ranks.

You can find the full patch notes and instructions on how to activate your Hawken account in Steam on the game's official website.
