Today during the PAX East Future of PC Gaming Panel, Chris Roberts mentioned multiple times that Star Citizen WILL be supporting linux. He even placed emphasis on WILL.
Before, they'd always danced around the subject bit, saying they'd support it if Cryengine did. I imagine Crytek has made enough progress for Chris to come out like this.
Linux Support Confirmed!

I noticed that aswell in the Future of PC gaming panel!! And I love it!
Means that if it comes to that, I can boot up a clean Linux install and run SC without spending a lot of resources on systems management and ALL into the game!! Yay!
And.. wasn't that silly nVidia Rep as annoying as heck during that stream? OMG, what a salesperson.. FailFish.. I would've loved some more input from the poor Oculus guy since he was all alone and didn't talk much in the first 2/3rds :/

And.. the lizardly nVidia Rep was also hosting the nVidia panel.. *shudder*.. Good news about a lot of things.. even if it DOES mean you will have to install nVidia snoopware on your PC (or, if you have an nVidia GPU, you ALREADY have )
