I completely agree, and the fact that the only dedicated area to Thatched Farmhouses is in an ARID climate is a slap in the face to anyone who buys it after all the good space is used up.

What do you mean dedicated area? Does this confer any benefits?

Some areas are dedicated to specific housing types. There is one specifically for thatched farm houses, which means you can't place farms or villas there. It's pretty much a guarantee that if you have that house, you will more than likely find open space at a dedicated area.

Holy crap that is ass. In ARID? :\

I would plant no trees there... maybe you could find an arid crop or animal... but that's no good for logging.

I wonder what ALL housing types are.

Do you mean the general housing area? That means that anything can be put there.

Or if you were asking what the different type of housing are, hit M > Housing Province. Then hover over the icon on the map and the tooltip will popup, telling you what each one means.

No, I mean specifically what the size of each house is. I don't want to buy a bigger house if I cannot fit more trees on it than I can a thatched farmhouse. Are these the "end game" plots for farming?

No other house is better than the thatched farmhouse in terms of planting area.

I stand corrected. Scarecrows can't be mailed. I corrected my post. I got some bad advice on that. What I can do is mail the one gold from my main to my alt and have him place the scarecrow. The main can use all the alts scarecrows. So my theory still will work but it is slightly harder having to switch to your alts to move scarecrows.

For the first 3 gardens you won't need a lot of sending around gold to set up your gardens, if you level them to 10, the level thats required to start trade runs anyways, you will have ~ 1g 50s .. for the first 2 gardens its 1g each, so for the additional 30s for the third garden thats not such a big difference and can easily be made by doing a few more quests

Once I level and get myself situated, I will be more than willing to help out with things. I'm not sure what I'll want to do yet but I will be there. My personal goals, House, big badass boat, and hunting down bad guys with bounties. Between all that, I guess trade routes with my boat maybe and helping out with gathering MATs and crafting.
