Building a new gaming pc for $1800.

It really comes down to what type of machine you want it for in the end. Gaming, Graphics, videos or browsing the net. For inexperienced users it is best to get a per built from places like ibuypower. The prices are pretty comparable to buying the parts out right. It also gives you a nice warrant and assurance it will work right away.

For gaming you want to focus on the graphics cards. I prefer Nvidia cards but do some shopping around before you comment. Just remember if you build it out right you have to worry about OS and part compatibility.

or he could just tell us where he lives and we could pick a build for him from there,

So where do you live and what do you have(screen, mouse,keyboard & headset)
